Suicide remains a critical public health issue, with rising rates in Malaysia reflecting the urgent need for effective mental health support. Despite increased awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of suicide cases rose significantly, highlighting the complexities of mental health challenges.

Associate Professor Dr. Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences at the University of Cyberjaya, has discovered the pivotal research into the thought processes of suicide survivors. Her study, titled “Surviving Suicide: The Realities Faced by Suicide Survivors,” revealed the transitional experiences from suicidal ideation to recovery.
